- With a record-breaking field of over 17,500 racers registered, the 2026 edition is shaping up to be the largest HYROX race to date in Bangkok.

Bangkok, Thailand, February 24, 2026 - HYROX, the Global Sport of Fitness Racing returns to Thailand following a highly successful inaugural event last year, bringing back BYD HYROX Bangkok for a second year running. In a continued partnership with global EV leader BYD as regional automotive partner and title partner, the 2026 edition is set to surpass all previous milestones, evolving into a three-day takeover from March 20-22, 2026, at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).

Building on the explosive momentum of last year's sold-out inaugural event, where more than 8,700 athletes gave it their all, the upcoming Bangkok race is already shattering benchmarks with over 17,500 fitness enthusiasts registered to compete. The intensity is set to soar as HYROX brings its signature indoor hybrid racing format back to Bangkok, challenging participants to push the absolute limits of their endurance and strength.

Championing true accessibility, BYD HYROX Bangkok unites a vibrant and balanced field of competitors. Beyond the elite competition, HYROX is fundamentally designed as a celebration of personal achievement for "everyday athletes" who train in local gyms and parks. The event reinforces its concept of the "Fitness Race for Everybody" by offering challenges for every capability, spanning Singles, Singles Pro, Doubles, Doubles Pro, and Relay Teams, alongside an inspiring Adaptive category that provides a supportive platform for athletes with permanent functional impairments the opportunity to participate inclusively.

The event will also feature the return of HYROX House. Designed as the ultimate pre and post-race destination, HYROX House offers an elevated festival-style experience focused on recovery, refuelling, and celebration. Following its successful debut in Singapore last November, the concept is coming back bigger and better, creating a vibrant hub for both athletes and supporters alike.

Family-friendly and open throughout the entire race weekend, HYROX House will showcase a curated selection of food and beverage offerings, live entertainment including renowned artists, DJ sets, and engaging activities for all ages.

Racers can also unwind and recharge with steam saunas, ice and hot plunge, compression boots and more in the dedicated recovery lounge, designed to optimise post-race recovery and support peak performance beyond the finish line.

"The overwhelming interest we've received for our return is truly heartening," said William Petty, Regional Events Manager, SEA. "The growth of HYROX in Thailand has been phenomenal. We are incredibly encouraged to see the fitness community wholeheartedly embracing HYROX, and our goal is to continue making the sport accessible to everyone. This surge of enthusiasm confirms that Thailand is not only embracing the sport, but is also swiftly establishing itself as a formidable force in the global fitness racing landscape," he added.

Fueling a Global Fitness Revolution in the Heart of Thailand

Marking a watershed moment for HYROX, the 2026 season sees tremendous expansion throughout the region. With Thailand emerging as a strategic anchor, BYD HYROX Bangkok accelerates its return to meet the escalating demand from Thai and international athletes. This strategic move capitalises on a significant surge in sports tourism to cement the country's status as the definitive fitness racing powerhouse in Southeast Asia.

Central to this explosive growth is the unique ability of HYROX to unite a global community through its signature standardised racing format. Accessible to every age and fitness level, the competition empowers athletes to surpass their own limits as they conquer eight one-kilometer running intervals alternating with eight high-intensity functional workout stations. The sequence of stations includes:

- 1,000m SkiErg

- 50m sled push

- 50m sled pull

- 80m burpee broad jumps

- 1,000m rowing

- 200m farmers carry

- 100m sandbag lunges

- 100 wall balls

Embodying the spirit of the sport, HYROX invites athletes to compete individually, in pairs, or as a four-person relay team to experience an electrifying blend of community camaraderie and personal breakthrough. This premier event further provides a vital pathway for Pro athletes to secure their qualification for the 2026 PUMA HYROX World Championships in Stockholm as they compete for global glory throughout the season.
